Arctic Ocean
Since we were unable to get to Point Barrow because it was fogged in, we touched the Arctic Ocean at Prudhoe Bay, on the Beaufort Sea.
Prudhoe Bay is a long ways north of the tree line, but a lot of driftwood accumulates, floating down the rivers.
Feathers of glaucous gulls, Larus hyperboreus:
Longtail ducks, Clangula hyemalis, formerly called oldsquaw.
